ACADEMIC POLICIES

 

State Approval:
Crescent City Christian School is an approved non-public school through the Louisiana Department of Education.

Grading Scale:
A: 94-100; B: 87-93; C: 77-86; D: 70-76; Failure: 69 and below.

Promotional Policy:
Kindergarten:
Normally promotion is based on age and available tests.

Grades 1-6:
The child must have reached six years of age before September 1st. Under normal circumstances, a student fails if he/she fails two major subjects or if he/she fails one major subject and two minor subjects. In either case the student must repeat the grade the following year.

Grades 7-8:
If a student fails 1-2 subjects for the year, the student must complete a CCCS approved summer school program for those subjects. If a student fails 3 or more subjects for the year, the student must repeat the grade the following year.

Grades 9-12:
Each semester stands alone. The student must pass the semester to get credit. In addition, the student must have a passing grade for the second semester and a passing grade for the fourth quarter in order to get credit for the second semester. If the student fails the first and/or second semesters he/she must attend a CCCS approved summer school and pass the semester’s work failed in the regular session.

Valedictorian and Salutatorian:
The student with the highest cumulative numerical grade point average at the end of the senior year will be class valedictorian. The student with the second highest cumulative numerical grade point average at the end of the senior year will be class salutatorian. When a tie for the highest cumulative numerical grade point average occurs, the students will be declared co-valedictorians. Students considered for valedictorian and salutatorian must attend CCCS for their entire junior and senior year and must take advanced math and physics.
